Software * Senior Engineer Unix Buckinghamshire to £35K* £45 (senior)
This is an outstanding opportunity to work for one of the most well-known & influential software companies in the world. You will be working as a Software Engineer or Senior Software Engineer on the UNIX Development Team. You will work within an experienced team of skilled software engineers and be responsible for coding and testing software programs under limited supervision. The work consists primarily of tracking down and fixing problems in existing products, usually in-house but also via remote dial-up. Additional responsibilities include developing new features and functions depending on business need. You will also be responsible for providing work estimates and determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
You may be required to provide leadership on projects of medium to large scale and provide technical guidance to other engineers.
Candidates should have 2+ years experience for Software Engineer position. 5+ years experience for Senior Software Engineer position. Computer Science or similar degree with at least a 2.1 . For further opportunities please visit: www.additionalresources.net
Key skills: low-level systems development programming, including multi-threading, C & UNIX programming skills (Solaris, HP-UX, Linux), X11, particularly Xlib programming.
Desirable skills: MS Windows Development (Win 32*64), Java & XML.
